Five more schemes in 2016/17

Once a year Cambridgeshire ACRE trustees and staff get together to review progress against the myriad of programmes and projects we run. We met in May and had a chance to discuss the successes and challenges facing the Cambridgeshire Rural Affordable Housing Partnership.

The partnership had another successful year in 2016/17 with five completed schemes and 68 affordable homes for local people delivered. The partnership has now delivered over 250 affordable homes in the last five years. Despite a degree of inertia created by changes to government funding and policy the pipeline of potential schemes remains strong.

The attached presentation highlights some of the key achievements and challenges – ACRE_presentation_CambsACREboard_2017-05-10.

Our rural affordable housing programme and Neighbourhood Planning service are increasingly intertwined as we tap into our partners expertise on housing issues to support Neighbourhood Planning groups.

We are also looking to better integrate our housing work with the Support Cambridgeshire programme. We have been reviewing feedback from the Support Cambridgeshire  surveys of parish councillors and clerks and will be running our Myth Buster Tour in Rural Housing Week in early July. More news soon……
